Manchester United fans react to Nani's performance on Twitter

Man United Nani

Manchester United won in Braga last night, and handed a start to under-pressure Nani. How did he do?

The scoreline was quite comfortable in the end, 3-1, but Braga made United work for it until three strikers Rooney, Van Persie and Hernandez all scored.

It was enough to send United through, their fourth consecutive victory and a 100 per cent record. With an eight point gap first place is already secured, avoiding last year's embarrassing early elimination.

A player who went into the match under pressure was Nani, with the 25-year-old tipped for a January exit. He was handed a start, after being dropped at the weekend after Sir Alex Ferguson criticised him giving the ball away late on in the League Cup defeat to Chelsea.

Even Braga's coach had advised before the game that the winger 'needed more love', with United responding by starting the Portuguese player. As for his performance, he was substituted on 73 minutes, with a slight injury, when the side were 1-0 down for Rafael to come on, allowing Valencia to move forward from right-back.

Here is what fans made of his performance. They were unanimous that he changed the game, although sadly it was his departure from the pitch rather than anything he actually did...

@reecegarcia1: I always stick up for him, but Nani coming off was as much a positive move as Robin coming on!

@avbcollins: Obvious question - is Nani a professional footballer? He wants £40k EXTRA per week to stay!!! We would hardly get £5 million for him now?

@fergiewilson: #MUFC should abandon Nani into the Braga nightime wilderness on the coach ride back to the airport like some unwanted puppy.

@twintsala: Surely Nani is leaving this January. No doubt again.

@darrendgeneral: Sad to say but Fergie subing nani n putting Valencia on the wing won the game for us

@ciaz14: Scoring all 3 goals after we took Nani of the pitch, shows how awful he is#GetRidOfHimFergie #FreeTransferAnyone

@stevens214: I think a large majority of United fans can agree that if Nani is sold nobody Will really mourn his departure.

@dougygodwin: The game changed as soon as we brought nani off. #timetogo

@shademufc: Nani is inconsistent but he is a terrific player, yes he hasnt been performing but I think it because of contract talks. It's distracted him

@adedonald: Who wud of thought nani goin off wud off helped utd win a game. Please someone buy him!!

@xdodgematex: I genuinely don't think that Nani could get any more mediocre. No form, no confidence, no drive. He has to leave if the right offer is made.

Do you agree with the above? Is Nani's time at United coming to an end?
