The latest round of Premier League fixtures has been and gone. As the dust settles, here is the big injury news at the top five clubs in the Premier League.

Manchester United

Manchester United’s injury woes continue as defenders Jonny Evans, Phil Jones, Nemanja Vidic and William Keane all remain sidelined. Evans is the closest to a return as he is nursing a slight groin problem, Jones has recently returned to training while Vidic and Keane are expected to be out until the New Year. Midfielder Shinji Kagawa remains out of action with a knee problem while Nani is nursing a slight groin strain. Wayne Rooney was subbed off in the win at Aston Villa with an ankle injury, the extent of which is currently unknown.

Manchester City

Manchester City enjoy some good news following their weekend win over Spurs. Joleon Lescott and David Silva are both back in the first team fold meaning Micah Richards, Jack Rodwell and James Milner are the only major injury concerns at the club. Richards remains out until next month with a knee problem while Rodwell continues to recover from a hamstring strain. Milner is the closest to a return and is expected to be back in training by the end of this week.

Chelsea

The big injury news for Chelsea concerns captain John Terry. Terry suffered a horrific looking knee injury in the weekend draw against Liverpool with scans this week to reveal the full extent of the problem. Ashley Cole could be in contention for a return this weekend following a hamstring injury while Frank Lampard should return to first team training following a calf injury.

Everton

Defender Tony Hibbert could make a return to the Everton squad for their match this coming weekend after a slight recurrence of a calf problem. Darron Gibson continues to have a thigh injury treated after his original return date was pushed back, David Moyes has set no clear fixture for his return. Kevin Mirallas was subbed off during the win over Sunderland with a hamstring problem but early reports indicate the problem is not severe. Striker Victor Anichebe remains out of action indefinitely.

West Bromwich Albion

Ben Foster recently underwent surgery for a groin problem and will not be fit in time for the weekend clash with Chelsea. Craig Dawson has an eye injury which he picked up during training but he should be fit for the weekend. Steven Reid is back in full training but Steve Clarke has said he will resist the temptation to rush the defender back. Midfielder Jerome Thomas is on the verge of a return to the side and missed out at the weekend due to a lack of match fitness.
