Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard may face a late fitness test ahead of England’s match with Sweden this week. Gerrard picked up a minor knee problem during the draw at Chelsea over the weekend and the injury may force him to miss the international match.
Liverpool have confirmed Jonjo Shelvey will not play for England this week due to a thigh injury. Shelvey was spotted in the stands before the Premier League match at Chelsea talking to current England manager Roy Hodgson. Shelvey will stay in Merseyside to try and get fit for this weekend’s action.
