The efforts of just 3,814 employees generated some $4.5m for Hurricane Sandy Relief Efforts.

It's Jefferies again.

Here's what CEO Richard Handler and President Brian Friedman sent to their crew:

Dear Team Jefferies,

Once again, each of you stepped up to help make a big difference in the lives of good people in their time of need. In this case, it was our neighbors and friends who were harmed by the massive Hurricane Sandy. You did not have to give personally. You did not have to devote a day asking for help from our clients. You didn’t have to put others ahead of yourself—none of this is in any of your official job descriptions. We would like to thank each one of you for once again showing why our firm is so special. It is our honor to be working alongside each of you every day. Let’s finish the next few weeks as strong as possible.

Best,

Rich and Brian
