Raheem Sterling has started for England in the mid-week friendly away in Sweden. Sterling’s performances so far this season have earned him call ups to the full England senior side and injuries to other wingers mean he stands a strong chance of starting his first international fixture.

Liverpool are thought to be one of many Premier League sides tracking the progress of Brazilian Shakhtar Donetsk striker Luiz Adriano. Liverpool have publicly stated that they are in the market for a front man and the Ukrainian club are thought to be ready to listen to bids once the January transfer window opens.

The agent of Schalke striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has denied that any deal has been agreed with Liverpool or other Premier League sides. Huntelaar has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool s his current contract at the German club runs out in the summer meaning a January move if they want to get cash for the front man.

Liverpool midfielder Suso has described his delight following a dream debut for the Spain Under-21 side. Suso featured in the Spanish youth tam’s win over Italy and has vowed to continue working hard as he pushes for a regular first team place at Liverpool and a senior cap with the Spanish national side.

Former Liverpool manager Roy Evans has said Steven Gerrard will go down as one of the best players in the history of the club. Gerrard is about secure his 100th cap for England and has firmly pledged his allegiance to his club side rubbishing recent comments and speculation suggesting he may leave Anfield.

Liverpool defender Glen Johnson has received public backing from manager Brendan Rodgers. Rodgers has said that Johnson’s versatility makes him one of the best defenders in the world. Rodgers has said that Johnson would be in any Premier League team of the season if it was put together based on current form.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has rejected the suggestion of Swedish skipper Zlatan Ibrahimovic that he should lead Liverpool. The PSG striker suggested that Gerrard should leave Anfield if he wants to win a lot of silverware before he eventually calls it a day and hangs up his boots.

Liverpool have joined both Manchester United and Manchester City in the pursuit of Sassuolo striker Domenico Berardi. Brendan Rodgers has put his faith in youth this season and Berardi would be a terrific player to come into the Liverpool youth system and challenge for a place in the first team.
