Tottenham Pre Season WHL

News, views, and gossip relating to Tottenham Hotspur over the past 24 hours.

Tottenham transfer target Fernando Llorente will not be allowed to leave in January, claim Athletic Bilbao.

Club president Jose Urrutia said: "Llorente will not be going anywhere in the winter transfer market and we will not be signing anyone. We took a decision at the start of the season on economic, sporting and philosophical grounds. Athletic are stronger and more competitive with Fernando in the ranks."

Andre Villas-Boas has said he is looking forward to managing in his first North London Derby, and says he realises it's importance to the fans. "This is a game where passion is extremely high. It represents three points but it means more." He added that Daniel Levy and the club staff have not stopped talking about the match and he realises it is one he has to win.

The Mail claims Hugo Lloris wants talks with Spurs about his future, amid concerns over a lack of playing time, with the goalkeeper saying today he must 'remain professional'. However as HITC's Nick Harris points out, the goalkeeper cannot move on in January due to FIFA rules about playing for more than two clubs in a season.

Moussa Dembele has been officially ruled out of the derby, and AVB says the midfielder is 50-50 for the Europa League tie away at Lazio next week.

Lennon, Walker, and Defoe are all back in light training, and hope to be back to full training tomorrow, with Lennon looking the likeliest of the trio to be fit in time for the game.

There is good striking news for Spurs, in that Emmanuel Adebayor got back into scoring ways for Togo last night, and you can watch the goal here. Fans will hope the journey back leaves him in good condition to play the early Saturday kick-off if selected.

And finally, AVB has praised Steven Caulker, who netted on his England debut last night, in a game which will be largely remembered for Zlatan's injury-time wondergoal.
