Transfer Talk: Featuring Sulejman and Gordon

West Ham Upton Park

Newcastle United, West Ham, QPR, Southampton and Everton all feature.

With the transfer window little over a month away, Lewis Doe rounds up and assesses five of the latest rumours doing the rounds in the Premier League.

Adel Taarabt - QPR to Manchester United

Sir Alex Ferguson is thought to be considering a move for star QPR player Adel Taarabt. Taarabt could be a good solution to the wide problems United are having at the moment in terms of injuries. Taarabt was previously sold by the new QPR manager Harry Redknapp which may have left a little bit of bad feeling between the pair making a move more likely.

Chances: 5/10

Miralem Sulejmani – Ajax to Newcastle United/West Ham United

Newcastle and West Ham have both been linked with a move for Ajax front man Miralem Sulejmani. Both clubs are in need of additional attacking power with Newcastle currently plagued by injuries and West Ham forced to pile the pressure onto loan signing Andy Carroll. Ajax are yet to comment on the links.

Chances: 6/10

Matt Phillips – Blackpool to Southampton

Southampton could be about to pull off a shrewd move for Blackpool winger Matt Phillips. Nigel Adkins is reported to want more width in the way the Saints play and Phillips could be available at a knock down price when compared with a number of other alternatives. Reports suggest that the Saints will offer Blackpool around £6 million.

Chances: 7/10

Michael Dawson – Tottenham Hotspur to Queens Park Rangers

Spurs defender Michael Dawson has been linked with a move to play under former manager Harry Redknapp at QPR. Dawson has not been first choice under Andre Villas-Boas at Spurs which means any move from QPR for the central defender could go through quite quickly. However, Dawson has shrugged off the speculation insisting he’s happy in North London.

Chances: 7/10

Craig Gordon – Free Agent to Everton

Scottish international goalkeeper Craig Gordon is being linked with a move to Everton after leaving Sunderland in the summer. Gordon is 29-years-old and is reportedly being viewed as a good primary competitor to Tim Howard for the number one slot at Everton. As no transfer fee would be involved, Everton can afford to spend a little extra on wages which could seal the deal.

Chances: 8/10
