Arsenal lost 2-1 to Olympiakos last night in the Champions League, and striker Marouane Chamakh was one to get the brunt from supporters.
The first half of last night's match was a case of job done, as Arsenal sauntered in with a 1-0 lead at half-time, but unfortunately the Gunners crashed to an all too familiar defeat to Olympiakos.
The match ended 2-1, and Arsenal ended up in second place in Group B. Schalke's 1-1 draw with Montpellier could cause Arsenal even more reason to rue the defeat, as a win in Greece would have seen Wenger's men finish first.
The damage will be assessed when the Champions League draw is made, but if Arsenal are drawn against Barcelona again, it will certainly underline Wenger's folly of not taking a full strength side.
Moroccan striker Marouane Chamakh was making his first start of the season, and there is every chance it could be his only one, and last showing before he is sold. He was by no means the only player to attract flak, only Rosicky - subbed at half-time, can come out of the performance with credit.
Yet it was Gervinho who attracted the worst of the flak from supporters, following up a limp display against Swansea at the weekend with another shocker, despite his first assist in nine games.
Here is what supporters made of the Ivorian's showing:
@djwaite: Chamakh and Gervinho are the worst 2 Arsenal forwards I've seen in the 17 years i've supported the club. That includes Franny Jeffers
@razinousys: Ive always said dis..gervinho n ramsey alone r halve of arsenal pblms!!
@goonerfanzine: Gervinho is possibly the most frustrating player I've ever seen in an Arsenal shirt. So wasteful when he's in decent situations.
@olu1991: Let's b sincere here ramsey and gervinho would not see starting jersey in westbrom
@kjsgooner: I'm not even joking anymore, we should get rid of Gervinho while he has what little respect left. Otherwise we'll never be able to shift him
@michaelgreen_dj: Gervinho is so wasteful it's unreal, 1 good thing in 90 mins is not a performance
@1walid1: Not great but I wouldn't say Olympiacos deserved to win it. Don't understand Chamakh abuse. Gervinho the real culprit. Awful!
@aurik_k: I'm a Chamakh fan, but he doesn't get service in the box. He worked hard tonight for little reward. Gervinho can leave.
@bobbycoppin: Gervinho needs to leave ASAP, Squillaci needs to never play for AFC ever again. Vermaelen needs to learn some discipline!
@steve_haz: struggling to understand why Wenger likes ramsey and gervinho so much
@arbaldock: No wonder Fabregas, Nasri, RVP wanted to leave. The writing was on the wall when we bot idiots like Chamakh, Squillaci and Gervinho. Weapons
@longjeff_: Gervinho did very well for the Rosicky goal
@shanegooner: The best comedian I've ever seen is Gervinho. He really is a bad footballer. Hilariously bad first touch.
@flashover788: Arsenal .....Arsene .. You are an educated man .. So why do you keep selecting Gervinho ?? He is absolutely clueless ...
@piersmorgan: Gervinho, Ramsey, Arshavin, Squillaci & Chamakh wouldn't make the Invincibles reserve team. Fact.
So was Gervinho as bad as all that? Does he have a future at Arsenal?
