Fresh inquests have been ordered into the deaths of the 96 Liverpool fans who lost their lives during the Hillsborough disaster. New evidence prompted an application to overturn the original inquest decisions as the evidence suggested that over 50 of the deaths could have been avoided.

Liverpool have been linked with a possible move for Real Madrid striker Jose Callejon at the end of this season. Callejon has failed to hold down a place in the Madrid team this season and Liverpool are thought to be in a battle with Spurs for the player who has a £16 million buy out clause in his contract.

Anderlecht player Lucas Biglia has been told he can join Liverpool if the Anfield club offer just over £8 million for his transfer. Biglia is thought to have been a long term target for the club and they have confirmed they will not let him leave for a penny under their asking price.

Former Liverpool Director of Football Damien Comolli has urged teenage winger Raheem Sterling to sign a new contract with the club as quickly as possible. He says the best advice he can give the winger is to sign a new deal with the club unless there is something he feels very uncomfortable about.

Former Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has welcomed the news that fresh inquests have been ordered into the deaths of 96 Liverpool fans at the Hillsborough disaster. Dalglish was the manager of Liverpool when the tragic incident took place and he has welcomed the ‘fantastic news’.

Liverpool’s move for Blackpool ace Tom Ince could be under threat. National newspaper the Daily Star has reported that both Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are monitoring the situation and may launch bids when the January transfer window opens to steal Ince away from a move to Liverpool.

Derby County have put a price tag of £5 million on Liverpool target Will Hughes. The 17-year-old has been linked with Liverpool for a number of weeks but has expressed no desire to leave. However, the lack of funds at the Championship club means they may be forced to sell him off if Liverpool are interested.
