Both Manchester City and Manchester United are chasing Shakhtar Donetsk attacker Fernandinho, report The Mirror. United's supposed interest comes despite Sir Alex Ferguson stating he would not be making signings in the transfer window. The midfielder is valued at £16.5 million, and has spent eight seasons in Donetsk and impressed against Chelsea in the Champions League earlier this season.
Loic Remy is in talks with Newcastle United over a transfer, report The Star. The Frenchman is rated at £10 million and is out of contract next summer and has praised Alan Pardew's side, saying: "Newcastle are a very good team. They’re a big club with good players, very good fans and a nice stadium that’s always full." The report adds that the move is not dependent on Demba Ba's future, with the Senegalese striker facing a possible fine after making similar overtures to Arsenal, describing the Gunners as a 'dream club' in an interview earlier this week.
Falcao to Chelsea rumours continue, with Spanish outlet AS claiming Roman Abramovich is to offer the Colombian striker a personal tour of London, and the club's training facilities in an effort to convince him to move to the club. Falcao has scored 17 goals in 15 La Liga games so far this season.
Liverpool's pursuit of Daniel Sturridge is believed to be a done deal, with the Reds set to complete the deal for the Chelsea attacker. Sturridge has made just one Premier League start so far this season for the Blues, and the Guardian say the deal is likely to cost £12 million. The Mail add that Tom Ince is set to clinch a return to Liverpool from Blackpool when the window re-opens, in a deal which will set the Reds back just £6 million.
Stoke City are looking at signing Bolton Wanderers attacker Lee Chung-Yong, report The Mail. The South Korean has recovered from a broken leg which caused him to miss most of last season and has scored three times in the Championship so far this season. The same report adds that Sunderland striker Ji Dong-Won could head back to his homeland in January after struggling for opportunities this campaign with clubs showing an interest in his signature.
Arsenal and Manchester City are both eyeing Argentine ace Ezequiel Cirigliano, a defensive midfielder who has been compared to Javier Mascherano, say The Metro. The 20-year-old has previously been linked with Manchester United, currently plays for River Plate, and is valued at £5 million.
