Liverpool Ball

The latest news and information about Liverpool.

Liverpool have been drawn against Zenit St Petersburg in the first knock out phase of the Europa League. Liverpool won their group which apparently means an easier tie but they will have their work cut out to win this tie. Liverpool also travelled to Russia during the group stage to play Anzhi.

Liverpool fans can rest easy in the knowledge that Raheem Sterling has agreed a new deal to stay at the club. Sterling has apparently agreed a five-year deal which is worth in the region of £30,000 per week. He has been one of the stand out players at the club so far this season and there was talk of him joining Manchester United.

Nuri Sahin should be available for selection in the Premier League match with Fulham this weekend. The midfielder is on loan at the club from Real Madrid and has missed recent matches with a nose problem. However, he has now recovered from the slight break and is in line for a place on the subs bench.

Liverpool midfielder Lucas says the team owe the fans a win this weekend against Fulham. Liverpool were well beaten by Aston Villa at Anfield last weekend and the Brazilian says the club owe it to the fans to put in a better performance and secure an elusive home win.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is reported to be tracking the progress of Paris Saint-Germain forward Kevin Gameiro. An apparently done deal between Chelsea and Liverpool for Daniel Sturridge seems to have fallen through with the PSG front man the latest to be linked with a move to Anfield.

Liverpool could be in line for a shock move for Celtic striker Gary Hooper. The £7 million rated forward has snubbed a new deal at Parkhead which means Liverpool could swoop in and secure a deal when the January transfer window opens. The price arguably offers much better value than what Liverpool are reported to be offering Chelsea for Daniel Sturridge.

Liverpool have missed out if they were attempting to sign Schalke striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar. The Dutchman has agreed to sign a new deal with the German club which ends speculation linking him with a move to Anfield and many other top European sides.

West Ham are reportedly ready to send striker Andy Carroll back to Liverpool. The centre forward joined the Hammers on loan until the end of the season but injury problems have prevented him from appearing in recent matches. With no short term date likely for his return, West Ham can send him back to his parent club.
