Talksport have claimed that while Loic Remy is said to have agreed a deal in principle to join Newcastle in January, the Marseille striker is still holding out hope for a late bid from Tottenham, who had an offer for the striker rejected last summer.

Scott Parker has called for his team to give their all in their clash with Stoke City on Saturday, and in team news, Emmanuel Adebayor is set to undergo fitness tests ahead of the weekend’s game, and Benoit Assou-Ekotto could be available, after returning to training.

Kick off times for Spurs' Europa League clash with Lyon have been confirmed. The first leg at the Lane on Thursday, February 14 will kick-off at 8.05pm. The second leg at Lyon's Stade de Gerland a week late on Thursday, February 21 kicks-off at 7pm local time, 6pm UK.

Meanwhile Spurs keeper Brad Friedel insists he remains on good terms with his teammate Hugo Lloris despite the competition for places. Lloris' former club Lyon are looking forward to the prospect of him returning in the Europa League fixture with club coach Remi Garde - formerly of Arsenal - describing the draw as 'fate', adding he hopes the international goalkeeper 'does not shine' against his former side.

And finally, reports from the continent have claimed Spurs are preparing a bid for Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila in the transfer window. The 23-year-old has been in disciplinary problems with the French Football Federation of late, but remains a talented individual on the field who would benefit from the step up to the Premier League.
