Deals for former Chelsea and Manchester United strikers look done in a round-up of Transfer Gossip from across The Channel.
Fiorentina, AC Milan, Juventus, Parma, PSG, Malaga, Atletico Madrid, Deportivo la Coruna, Auxerre, Galatasaray, Besiktas, Zenit Saint Petersburg, Montpellier, Olympiakos and Santos feature in a round-up of transfer news from around the continent.
Fiorentina have confirmed the signing of former Manchester United forward Giuseppe Rossi from Spanish Segunda outfit Villarreal. The Italian international is more than happy to be linking up with the squad but is not expected to make his debut for Firenze until March - he has not played a full game since cruciate ligament damage suffered in October 2011. However the signing does not mean the imminent departure of fellow forward Stevan Jovetic; who is a transfer target for Manchester City.
Zenit St Petersburg are tempting AC Milan into the sale of one of their star players. Italian international full-back Ignazio Abate has reportedly been the subject of £10 million interest while fellow Milan full-backs Luca Antonini and Djamel Mesbah have also been linked with a San Siro exit; Galatasaray and Parma respectively are the teams in question with the latter a potential swap deal involving Cristian Zaccardo.
A deal that will see Juventus sign Didier Drogba has been the front-page story of Italian sport-print Corriere Dello Sport today. The Bianconeri have reportedly agreed a fee with Shanghai Shenhua and the Ivorian is now in the final stages of tying down a deal with the Turin club.
AC Milan look to steal PSG striker Nene from under the noses of Brazilian outfit Santos and Qatari club Al-Arabi. They have turned their attention to last season’s French capital-clubs top-scorer after seemingly missing out on Didier Drogba. Nene has struggled for first team action after several high-profile signings this summer; including former Rossoneri striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic. With his contract up in the summer the Italian side are looking into a potential deal.
Once again Serie A dominates the January transfer landscape as Parma look set to win the race for Auxerre star Willy Boly. In what will be an initial six-month-loan spell the French youngster will join up with fellow Francophones Jonathan Biabiany, Ishak Belfodil and Yohan Benalouane.
Moving away from Serie A and in Turkey Besiktas are now turning their attentions elsewhere after seemingly losing out on main target Nene. The likes of John Utaka of Montpellier and Rafik Djebbour of Olympiakos are now believed to be their main transfer targets.
In Spain Atletico Madrid are preparing a summer raid on Malaga for French international Jeremy Toulalan. The former Lyon player is one of The Anchovies highest paid assets and his sale is a possibility given financial irregularities in Andalucía. Meanwhile a former Mattress Maker has returned to La Liga. Paolo Assuncao has joined cash-strapped strugglers Deportivo La Coruna on a free transfer after leaving Sao Paolo this month.
