A round-up of news and view relating to Chelsea over the past 24 hours.

Chelsea could be denied in their pursuit of long term target Radamel Falcao, after the Colombian spoke in glowing terms about PSG. The French club are one of the few clubs able to afford Falcao’s £40+ million buy-out clause, and could pair the striker up with Zlatan Ibrahimovic next season, with Falcao refusing to rule out a move to France:

"It's not impossible that PSG and me see each other very soon."

Romelu Lukaku is enjoying his loan spell at West Brom so much he is looking to extend it for a second year next season. The Belgian striker, who scored twice at the weekend, has said that he feels as at home at the Hawthorns as he did at Anderlecht, and that a longer spell there will help his career:

“The next two years will be good for me at West Brom. They will help me build up for a great career, that is for sure. Hopefully, after the January window, we will be able to start talking about that.”

Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of Shakhtar playmaker Willian might be aided by the player himself, who has failed to return on time for the team’s winter training camp. Coach Mircea Lucescu has said that Willian is putting pressure on the club, and there have been suggestions that Taison might have been signed as a replacement for the 24 year old.

Hatem Ben Arfa has put the Premier League’s top sides on alert by saying he could look to leave Newcastle for a bigger English club, and that there was some contact with Chelsea in the summer.

"I am interested by Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool. Today, these clubs are over Newcastle.

"During the summer, there was contact with Chelsea. But I wanted to stay in Newcastle.”

The Blues are reportedly also planning to raid neighbours QPR for Stephane Mbia should Harry Redknapp’s side finalise the acquisition of Yann M’Vila from Rennes.

Chelsea’s young goalkeeper Sam Walker has joined Colchester United on loan until April 27th. The 21 year old will join another Chelsea youngster – Billy Clifford – who joined Colchester on Friday.
