European transfer update: Including Llorente 'advanced talks' and Sneijder makes his move

Sneijder 3

A former Spurs and Wigan player features along with ex-Arsenal, Liverpool, Aston Villa, Swansea, Stoke City, Newcastle, Manchester United and Fulham targets.

Inter Milan, Juventus, Napoli, Genoa, Parma, Espanyol, Athletic Bilbao, Marseille, Lokomotiv Moscow, Besiktas, Galatasaray and FC Cluj all featue in a summary of transfer activity on the continent.

Wesley Sneijder has reportedly completed his prolonged transfer to Turkish outfit Galatasaray. The Istanbul club had a fee agreed with Italian side Inter Milan early last week but were waiting on the Dutch international to agree on personal terms. It was believed that Sneijder was holding out for a potential move to the Premier League which never materialised. Now he has told their official website about his excitement at getting started in Turkey.

Aston Villa, Newcastle, Norwich, Stoke and Swansea have all been linked with winger Modou Sougou in the past couple of months but the recent acquisition of Loic Remy by QPR has left Marseille with a gap in the side they plan to fill with the Cluj forward. The Senegalese 28-year-old has been in great form in Romania and even made it into our very own Champions’ League Group Stage XI for his excellent European performances. It is believed a fee has been agreed and the deal is imminent.

Juventus are now reported to be in advanced talks with Fernando Llorente. The Athletic Bilbao striker is out of contract in the summer and no deal would be completed before then but it is now believed more than ever that Juventus are leading the race for his much coveted signature.

Reto Ziegler is being linked with a move to Genoa. The Swiss left-back has not played a single league game since joining Juventus after a successful stint with Sampdoria and he is currently out on loan at Lokomotiv Moscow. Fulham and Besiktas have also been linked with the former Tottenham and Wigan full-back.

Dorlan Pabon insists he has not agreed to leave Parma this month. The Colombian forward who was previously heavily linked with La Liga outfit Espanyol has now found himself linked with a move back to South America with Argentine side Independiente.

One player who is returning to South America from Italy however is Eduardo Vargas. The promising striker joined Napoli recently but has failed to make an impact in Serie A and has joined Gremio on a loan deal. The 23-year-old, who was reportedly offered to Arsenal earlier in the month has left with the view for a permanent move after ‘losing his confidence’ in Italy.
