French side Nancy have confirmed that highly rated defender Massimo Haidara is due to sign for Newcastle. The French under-21 international is expected to seal the deal today, while a move for Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa remains in the pipeline, but the Montpellier president has criticised the defender's apparent choice to sign for the Magpies.

West Ham midfielder Alou Diarra says he is hoping to leave the Hammers after just six months at the club. He has made just five appearances and says he no longer 'feels positive' about his experience at West Ham. QPR have been linked with the defensive midfielder, but a move back to the continent for the former Marseille player looks most likely.

Liverpool stalwart Jamie Carragher has said he is considering moving on from the club this summer, after making just two league starts this season. The defender's contract is up in the summer and despite his ties to Liverpool he has describing the season as 'difficult' for him, and has said the possibility of a move to another club is open.

Pepe Reina's dad is also talking up the goalkeeper's potential Liverpool exit. Reina is believed to want a move back to Spain, where he could replace the Victor Valdes, who says he does not want to renew his contract with Barcelona. Liverpool have been cited as a potential destination for the Spaniard.

Harry Redknapp is hoping to sign former Spurs midfielder Nico Kranjcar, who he sold one year ago. The Croatian is currently at Dinamo Kiev and is on the QPR boss' shortlist, along with Peter Odemwingie, Moussa Sissoko and Jonas Olsson.

Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic has been touted as a potential signing for Manchester City, to rival number one Joe Hart. Begovic is also reported to be wanted by Manchester United to replace David de Gea who is continuing to frustrate with his errors. Meanwhile Stoke are closing in on MLS defender Brek Shea, having agreed a £2 million deal with his club.
