There is a former Manchester United and Arsenal player in the talk across Europe today as well as Fulham, Liverpool and Chelsea related lines of inquiry
Malaga, Juventus, Barcelona, Torino, PSG, Roma, Hamburg, PSV, Vitesse, Athletic Bilbao, Anzhi, Zenit, AC Milan and, Racing Club and Portland Timbers all feature.
Diego Lugano has completed a move to Malaga until the end of the season. The Uruguayan centre back has been surplus to requirements at Paris Saint-Germain this season after the acquisition of Brazilian captain Thiago Silva in the summer. The Spanish side are looking to reinforce their side as they look to make an assault on the Champions League but they are being forced into loan deals due to their confusing financial situation.
Juventus are looking at the possibility of bringing in David Villa as a deal to bring fellow Spaniard Fernando Llorente earlier than the summer seems to have stalled permanently. Athletic Bilbao are being rightfully stubborn in regards to their star strikers future and insist he will not leave until his contract expires at the end of the season. Juve want a new striker this month to see them through a busy end to the season and Villa is reportedly unhappy at Barcelona.
Torino’s Italian international centre back Angelo Ogbonna has become a transfer target for French big spenders Paris Saint-Germain. The talented defender has previously been linked with a move to Manchester United and is considered a future star of the Azzurri side. However his agent exclaimed earlier in the month that he did not expect Ogbonna to move during the January transfer window.
Vasilis Torosidis has joined Roma. The Greek international had looked to be on his way to Fulham but at the last minute the Serie A side hijacked the deal and signed the Greek international for a bargain fee as his contract expired in the summer.
Jeffrey Bruma, who is technically a Chelsea player, is being targeted by two separate Eredivisie sides. The Dutch international has been on loan with Hamburg for two seasons now and is expected to leave Chelsea permanently by the end of the season. Vitesse Arnhem and PSV Eindhoven are believed to have approached the London club about ending his stay in Germany but his current loan-club are also trying to muster up the money to make a bid.
Former Manchester United and Arsenal defender Mikael Silvestre is training with MLS side Portland Timbers ahead of a proposed move to the MLS. He has previously been linked with a move to Indian or Chinese football after his release by Werder Bremen in the summer but now it seems the French international sees the States as his favoured destination for winding down his career. He had been training with Manchester United to maintain his fitness.
Ricardo Centurion, who has been linked with the likes of AC Milan, Zenit and PSG has agreed a deal to sign for Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala this summer. The Racing Club midfielder is considered one of Argentina’s hottest prospects and the money-rich Russian outfit seem to have won the race for his signature.
