Five Brazilian players to watch in the FA's 150th anniversary friendly with England

Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has announced his squad to face England on February 6th and there are certainly some names you will want to watch intently

Brazil have announced their squad for the friendly with England on February 6th. The game between the best national team ever and our very own England is being held to mark the 150th anniversary of the Football Association.

It is the perfect opposition for Roy Hodgson’s men to mark the occasion as no team in world football evokes more memories of how the beautiful game should be played than Selecao.

There are several familiar faces from the Premier League in Luiz Felipe Scolari’s team as he recalls Julio Cesar from his imposed international exile after the Brazilian has shown good form for QPR this season; while there are also places in the squad for the Chelsea trio of David Luiz, Oscar and Ramires to round off the Premier League interest.

While the likes of Tottenham targets Leandro Damiao and Willian have both been left out of the squad there is still plenty of names to keep an eye on in the fixture.

But which five players could really stand out?

Dante

This man first caught my eye during his time at French side Lille which was not a considerable success but he looked a real talent in his handful of appearances. Since then he has done the rounds in Belgium and Germany and now finds himself with Bayern Munich; the Bundesliga leaders. Some pundits have proclaimed Dante the best European signing this season after he has become a stalwart in the Bavarian sides defence this campaign. Signed for just €4.7 million from Borussia Monchengladbach he is going to be a serious rival to David Luiz and Thiago Silva for the centre-back positions under Scolari.

Paulinho

The fixture is another opportunity for English fans who didn’t get to witness the Corinthians player at the FIFA Club World Cup recently. He was pivotal for the team alongside fellow Brazilian international Ralf in the heart of the midfield and he has been linked with a move to Chelsea and Inter Milan recently.

Hernanes

The Lazio midfielder has been in and out of the Brazil side since making his debut in 2008. He has been integral in Lazio pushing toward the Serie A title and with rumours of a potential move away from Rome starting to mount he would love to highlight his potential at Wembley.

Neymar

We hear a lot about him but rarely get to see a lot of him. The Brazilian superstar who is destined for European football at one point in his career is likely to start and it will give us English football fans a rare opportunity to see him in action.

Ronaldinho

He is back! The two time world footballer of the year has been in exceptional form for Atletico Mineiro recently and the man who built his Brazil side around the former Barcelona playmaker has hauled him out from the Mano Menezes cold. It will be good to see if he still has the entertaining streak in him even if he is pushing 33.

Here is the full squad…

Julio Cesar (QPR), Diego Alves (Valencia), Daniel Alves (Barcelona), Adriano (Barcelona), David Luiz (Chelsea), Dante (Bayern Munich), Leandro Castan (Roma), Miranda (Atletico Madrid), Filipe Luis (Atletico Madrid), Ramires (Chelsea), Arouca (Santos), Paulinho (Corinthians), Hernanes (Lazio), Oscar (Chelsea), Ronaldinho (Atletico Mineiro), Lucas Moura (Paris St Germain); Hulk (Zenit St Petersburg), Neymar (Santos), Fred (Fluminense), Luis Fabiano (Sao Paulo).

Who are you looking forward to seeing play at Wembley?
