Game makers join forces to produce a new title in the turn-based RPG fanchise
Persona maker Altus has revealed that it will join forces with Nintendo to produce a Wii U RPG based on the Fire Emblem Series.
No specific details have been unveiled as to what the new title will bring to the Wii U or the Fire Emblem franchise.
Fire Emblem fans are eagerly anticipating the release of the Nintendo 3DS title, Fire Emblem Awakening, which will come to the handheld on 4 February.
Such is the popularity of the series that Nintendo are releasing a special-edition Fire Emblem themed 3DS, dressed up in the series’ familiar art style and boasting a 4GB DS memory card.
The turn-based strategy RPG says gamers will be able to develop relationships with their team, highlighting the story as selling-point.
Nintendo explains: “The story features a robust cast of characters from various nations and backgrounds.”
Altus are famed for developing the Persona series of games, with its latest title, Persona 4 Golden, being named the top-ranked PlayStation Portable game in the US.
The company said it had been “blown away” by the popularity of the title, with gamers and critics ranking Persona 4 Golden as the best PS Vita title on Metacritic and Gamerankings.
