With 11 goals in 21 Premier League games for Arsenal, Theo Walcott certainly has the goalscoring ratio of a striker, and it's little wonder; five of those appearances have seen him start up front.
Against Brazil he was part of a front-three, on the right of Wayne Rooney with Danny Welbeck on the left. Walcott lasted 76 minutes before being substituted for Aaron Lennon, but played a key part in England's opening goal.
He was played through by Jack Wilshere, only to see his shot blocked, rebounding to Rooney who smashed it in from the edge of the box.
His all round-game certainly caught the eye, here are a selection of tweets in praise of his showing:
@FA: Aaron Lennon coming on for Walcott, who has been excellent tonight. 75 mins.
@mrjakehumphrey: Great evening. Wilshere, Walcott both fantastic, great heart & passion from team & a win!! Can we move the 2014 World Cup 12 months earlier?
@piersmorgan: Great performance by Walcott, he's terrorised Brazil's defence all game.
@paulg1977: Walcott seems to be getting better every time I see him, he`s got an end product consistently now.
@markwix: I would of given
#Walcott man of match myself. He was a total beast on the wing. He destroyed Adriano. His pace is lightning quick.
@joeycoventry: Btw what a player walcott has become! What a transformation this season has been
@m_sayers16: Great England victory against the brazilians, confidence booster! Walcottunplayable. Outstanding
@things_youlove: There's no comparison between Walcott and Lennon anymore, Lennon has just become the poor alternative to Walcott
What did you think of Walcott's performance?
