Can an Indonesian side tempt this AC Milan legend out of retirement?

Shevchenko

Andriy Shevchenko could be tempted out of retirement by a Malaysian side.

Heard of Mitra Kukar? No? Well very few have, but they could get a lot more popular if they pull off a shock deal which tempts former AC Milan and Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko out of retirement.

The plan is simple, put an offer to him which offers him one final pay day and the sort of financial deal that only a mad man would be silly to turn down.

“Obviously we’re interested in Shevchenko, but we have to continue to discuss this question, particularly the financial aspects - We’d like to invite Andriy for 10 games, but he apparently is happy to play no more than five times,” said the side’s manager Roni Fauzan.

That could make Shevchenko temporarily the best paid player in world football depending on how much he demands for those five appearances. However, the club want him to sign a short deal to play ten games, which could oddly stop the move from happening.

In terms of the marketing potential and the attention the club receives it’s going to be a worthwhile but it’s a lot of effort for what is effectively going to be a one month loan deal for a player not at his technical or physical best.
