The newest Arkham series games to provide a prequel story and move the franchise for the first time to the handheld console.
Yesterday, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment announced the release of Batman: Arkham Origins and Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate for the 25th October, 2013. Batman: Arkham Origins is set to be released for use on the Xbox 360, Playstation3, Wii U, PC, and the entertainment system by Microsoft. Whereas, for those of us who like to do their gaming on the go, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate is being made available on the Nintendo 3DS, and the PlaystationVita.
Batman: Arkham Origins is set to be Batman’s prequel story, with the events in the game taking place several years prior to the first two games in the series: Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. The game is set before Gotham City’s most notorious villains have risen from the ashes and features a younger and less experienced version of Batman in the early days of his crime fighting career. Throughout the development of the story, gamers will make many first acquaintances with significant characters and develop relationships vital to the story.
Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate is to bring the Batman: Arkham franchise into the realm of the handheld console and is designed to be a 2.5-D companion game for Arkham Origins that will allow gamers to expand on the storyline from the console version and expose previously unknown facts from the past of our favourite vigilante.
