With Liverpool's season drawing to a close, all eyes are on the club making an impact in the transfer market this summer; unlike the last.
A player they have been linked with previously is Cristian Tello of Barcelona, and it appears he is back on the Reds' agenda once more.
Spanish newspaper Marca report that Liverpool are focused on signing the winger, running their headline: Liverpool determined to swipe Tello.
The report states that Tello does not want to leave Barcelona but is waiting for the club to let them know their intentions towards him, as he has not been a regular this season.
With a release clause of 10 million Euros on his head, Marca claim that Liverpool would not have a problem meeting it.
The final point of the report indicates that Tello's future could depend on Isaac Cuenca, who is on loan at Ajax. If Cuenca stays in Holland then Barcelona will prefer to keep Tello.
With all of this in mind, is Cristian Tello good enough for Liverpool and should they be trying to force through a deal?
The 21-year-old is a left winger, who has made 11 La Liga starts for the club this season, plus eight games as a substitute.
In this time Tello has scored an impressive seven goals and provided four assists, a very healthy ratio on both counts.
He also has a goal and assist in the Champions League this season, with just two starts to his name in the competition.
Stats show he is the third best dribbler in the Barcelona squad, behind only Messi and Iniesta, and has more shots per game than any other play barring Messi. He is also ranked a creditable seventh in the star-studded squad for key passes.
Clearly at only 21 he is an outstanding prospect, and it's easy to see why Barcelona may be reticent to let him go, which is why the only way Liverpool could persuade him to join is if he was given assurances he would be a first team regular.
When you consider that Liverpool started with Jordan Henderson on the left of three in a 4-2-3-1 against Everton, it's easy to see that Tello would be a far more creative upgrade, and the sort of difference maker Brendan Rodgers is looking for.
If Liverpool are determined enough to sign him, they should meet his release clause and call the player's bluff, because with the right sales pitch they may have a chance of persuading him to sign on at Anfield.
