Five possible clubs for Chelsea's Lucas Piazon

Chelsea’s Lucas Piazon has said he’s open to a move away from Chelsea this summer with a loan deal the most likely option. Will Southampton or Everton be among the clubs looking to take advantage?

Lucas Piazon has endured a frustrating time since he first moved to Chelsea and his loan move to Malaga last season has given him that hunger and desire to play first team football.

He returns to Chelsea with an obvious fear that he won’t get much of a chance under Jose Mourinho, which means another loan deal is on the cards with a number of possible destinations for the young Brazilian.

“It’s hard to say how often I will play or if I will play at all. We will have to wait and see if any Premier League clubs are interested in me,” he said.

Well don’t worry Lucas, there are certainly a few sides that will be having a look.

Liverpool

Piazon seems like a Liverpool player in the respect that he’s small, agile, quick and very good on the ball.

Brendan Rodgers will consider any way to improve his current squad which doesn’t require him to spend millions of pounds in the process to do it. He would provide able support to someone like Philippe Coutinho who plays in a similar position.

Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs have been linked with several attacking midfield players and Chelsea may be willing to loan Piazon to them because they may not see the club as a direct threat.

Tottenham have been missing that Luka Modric style player ever since the Croatian left the club and the way he used to create chances and pass the ball around the midfield with ease is certainly something that Piazon is good enough to do regularly.

Swansea City

Swansea have to be a location for him because of the style of football they play.

Very little changed in terms of Swansea’s style when Michael Laudrup took over from Brendan Rodgers and Piazon is a player who would fit straight into the midfield.

Laudrup is also a manager who understands the Spanish philosophy of football, something that Piazon has just experienced with Malaga.

Everton

With Roberto Martinez as Everton’s new manager, the club will be looking to make high quality additions to the side which don’t cost large amounts of cash.

Piazon is a player who fits in with the style of football Martinez likes to play and he’d have an obvious place in the current Everton team next season, especially if Marouane Fellaini leaves the club this summer as expected.

Southampton

The Saints are the least likely of these five teams to get him but they are another team that like to play good passing football when they can.

They have a manager in Mauricio Pochettino who likes to play a pure style of football and he understands the importance of having key, dynamic and high quality ball retention and distribution players in his midfield.

Where do you think Piazon will go?
