Tottenham Hotspur have all but sealed a deal for Erik Lamela.
Tottenham have sealed an exciting deal for Erik Lamela, a winger more than capable of replacing and even bettering Gareth Bale.
The Argentine is a terrific prospect, but he was not a replacement for the collapsed Willian deal, he was supposed to be signed in tandem with him.
So do Tottenham have one, or may be two more big deals still in the bag, to compensate for the loss of Bale in addition to Lamela?
If reports are to be believed, it won't just be defender Vlad Chiriches who could also be incoming.
Here's the lowdown on two potential signings;
It was claimed earlier on Wednesday by the Dutch press that Tottenham made a move for Christian Eriksen. De Telegraaf have reported that Spurs have submitted an £8 million offer for the attacking midfielder, who has just one year left remaining on his deal at Ajax. Eriksen has been in fine form for the club early this season, getting on the scoresheet just last weekend. SkySports claim Spurs have been given permission to speak to the player. Such a fee would represent a steal for the player, who can be a natural replacement in style for Rafael van der Vaart who left last summer. Gareth Bale had success drifting into the centre last season, and 21-year-old Eriksen can fulfil that role, allowing Lamela to stay out wide.
The Mirror claim Valencia playmaker Ever Banega is on the club's shortlist, as they seek to build upon their already impressive midfield. Banega is an alternative in style to Christian Eriksen, and it is unlikely both would arrive. Banega is four years older at 25, and while both have Champions League football experience, Banega has more. Crucially, Banega has an understanding with former Valencia teammate Roberto Soldado, signed by Spurs this summer, and signing the number 10 could be a shrewd move by the club. He would come at a price however, with the Argentine likely to cost around £20 million.
Which of the pair can you see Spurs signing, who would you prefer?
