It caps what has been a superb start to the season for the 20-year-old brother of first team regular Eden Hazard, as he continues to do everything Jose Mourinho would be hoping for from a loan player.
Hazard is currently playing his domestic football with Zulte Waregem in the Belgian Pro League and he’s retained his place in the Belgian Under-21 side following four goals in six appearances from his domestic duties so far.
That shows huge signs of improvement in the same team where he only managed three goals in 33 appearances last season. That means progression as he continues to show his potential and ability.
What makes his performance for the Belgium Under-21s all the more impressive is the fact that Italy won the last European Under-21 Championship with largely the same side that competed against Belgium in the 2015 qualifier last night.
There is every reason for Chelsea fans and the player himself to be optimistic and if he continues to have a great season with Waregem, banging in goals and producing man of the match performances, he could well be challenging his brother for a place in the Chelsea first team next season.
Are you excited about Hazard's potential?
