This summer Arsenal missed out on several high profile targets. Of course Luis Suarez and Gonzalo Higuain immediately spring to mind - but you cannot forget Luiz Gustavo of Bayern Munich either.
The defensive midfielder shone for Brazil in their Confederations Cup triumph this summer, but was not considered a prominent figure of the Bayern Munich line-up.
With that in mind he was told he could leave the club this summer - for a fee in the region of £17 million.
And at one point it appeared that The Gunners were on the verge of snapping up the player. A bid was submitted and Gustavo admitted he could be swayed to switch to North London.
But in the end he decided he was settled in Germany - and instead made a switch to fellow Bundesliga outfit VfL Wolfsburg.
And at first things seemed rosy - with an exceptional performance against Schalke 04 catching the eye across Europe.
But in his second game against Mainz he was booked twice in quick succession and subsequently shown to the tunnel.
But he had a chance to make amends against Bayer Leverkusen today, in his first game since that ill-fated match against Mainz.
But Arsenal will probably be glad they didn’t sign the player -as he saw red again!
For the second game in a row Gustavo was shown a red-card in the 85th minute after yet another double booking.
To be fair, it was harsh, unlike his red at the end of August.
But Gustavo will now miss the game against his former team Hoffenheim - and if his ban is extended he could also miss the tie with Bayern Munich on the 28th.
Here is the red card…
