Tottenham bounced back from their North London Derby loss with a 2-0 win over Norwich at the weekend, in which they netted their first goals from open play this season.
Christian Eriksen was the star of the show despite Gylfi Sigurdsson's goals, impressing on his full debut for the club.
Liverpool were a club closely linked with signing the 21-year-old Dane this summer, but they seemingly failed to follow up any interest in the Ajax starlet and Spurs swooped instead.
Fans of the Reds watching Eriksen's exciting debut at the weekend were cursing their club's failure to sign the attacker, with one fan on Twitter stating he was 'close to tears' watching the display.
Close to tears watching Eriksen tear Norwich apart...what could have been #LFC— Simon Finolet (@FintanWhite) September 15, 2013
To be fair to him, he was not the only Liverpool fan upset at seeing Eriksen turn on the style for a club considered a rival in the bid to break into the top four.
Eriksen had a good game for Spurs yesterday still amazed we didn't go for him. Must be a good reason. #LFC— Neil Stanbridge (@Stano24) September 15, 2013
Really have a bad feeling that we missed out big on Eriksen. #LFC— AB (@aiyannabelly) September 15, 2013
Still gutted we missed out on Eriksen #LFC.— Aaron Mc Grath (@AaronMcGrath96) September 15, 2013
Do you think Liverpool missed out, or will they be ok as they are?
