According to media reports Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe is unsettled at White Hart Lane and wants to move on for regular first team football.
And there's speculation that Newcastle united are interested in a possible bid with a view initially to making a loan offer in January.
But one Tottenham fan told Here Is The City that he wouldn't lose any sleep if Defoe left the club:
'Defoe shows us Spurs fans the good and the bad all the time. He's not the clinical finisher people think he is. It's only against the easy teams he scores - and that's been him from day one.
He comes on against Chelsea Saturday, has a glorious chance to score, and kicks it straight at the keeper - he just isn't up there with the best.
Tottenham need a different type of forward now - someone with strength and pace to worry defences and hold the ball up. We lost our way against Chelsea because we couldn't keep hold of the ball in the final third.
Defoe is clearly thinking he's may miss out on playing in the World Cup next year if he isn't getting regular first team football. But he'll only play if someone gets injured anyway - Lambert, Rooney, Welbeck and Sturridge will all be in front of him.
For once in his life Defoe should try to be a team player. If he goes to the Toon, good luck to him - he'll need it to get ahead of the two quality strikers they already have.
And Tottenham should be looking for another striker in January anyway - someone in the style of Negredo or Lukaku'.
What do you think ? Would Spurs miss Defoe ?
