Bruno Gomes' on-off transfer to Manchester United could be... on.
A couple of weeks ago it had seemed that Manchester United's deal to sign young sensation Bruno Gomes was dead in the water.
Now it could be back on,
The young striker has been interesting United for two years, playing for Brazilian feeder club Desportivo Brasil.
Gomes has even been brought over to visit Old Trafford and met with Wayne Rooney and Sir Alex Ferguson in 2012.
However after Fergie retired and David Moyes took over the deal was placed on the backburner, and Gomes was linked to Udinese and most recently involved in negotiations with Sao Paulo in his homeland.
On Friday afternoon the striker dropped a major hint he could be joining the Red Devils after all, by retweeting a post suggesting he is 'VERY' close to agreeing a deal to Manchester United.
His official @B9oficial twitter feed makes interesting reading. Below is the message he retweeted:
O brasileiro Bruno Gomes (@B9oficial), de 17 anos, que pertence ao Desportivo Brasil, está muito perto de ser anunciado pelo United.— Man. United Brasil (@ManUtdBR) October 11, 2013
Which translates as: "The Brazilian Bruno Gomes (@ B9oficial), 17, who belongs to Desportivo Brazil is VERY close to being announced to United."
With the striker tipped to become one of the best in his generation, scoring seven goals in one game earlier this year and setting records at youth level with 122 goals to his name, surely it is a piece of good news finally on the way to Old Trafford.
