5 Manchester United players that could leave in January: Expensive signings could go

David Moyes

Manchester United will use January to reassert their Premier League ambitions, but who will make way for incoming bodies?

Manchester United are reportedly looking at the January transfer window as a springboard for their lofty Premier League ambitions.

The Premier League champions have endured a mixed start under the David Moyes regime, and at the minute look fare from certain to being able to reclaim their Premier League champion status this season.

There have been a number of players that have been linked with January moves to the Manchester club with the likes of Gundogan, Witsel, Baines and Banega.

Stephen Pickering takes a look at high profile names who could leave in January transfer window in the Old Trafford shake up...

Patrice Evra - The interest from Manchester United in Everton left back Leighton Baines does little for the confidence of the Manchester United vice-captain. He could be one of the first out of the door during the Moyes era as he looks to bring in his own men.

Anderson -  The young talent was snapped up by United for €30 million in 2007, but since then he has been on a rapid decline. The midfielder has made just 3 appearances this season and will look to be further down the pecking order when fresh faces come through the door.

Javier HernandezThe talented Mexican is renowned as the most under-used player in the Premier League. He faces stiff competition for a first team space and has already voiced his desire to go after first team football.

Shinji Kagawa - The former Asian international footballer of the year was a major coup for the Manchester side when he signed from Borussia Dortmund in 2012. The Japanese international has found first team football hard to come by, and with interest from clubs around Europe, he could look to move on.

Wilfried ZahaThe young winger has been the talk of a possible loan move in January and will be one player I fully expect to leave on a short-term basis. He hasn't made the impact he would have liked in a Manchester United shirt, and a loan move could be good for him to prove himself in the Premier League.

Who do you think could leave in January, how would it affect the United squad?
