Arka Gydnia stopper Michal Szromnik is to undergo his second trial at Goodison Park in the past 12 months.

Poland has a reputation for producing some of the best goalkeepers in the world - and one look at the Premier League backs up this point. Wojciech Szczesny and Artur Boruc, despite the latter’s recent dip in form, have been two of the best keepers in the league so far this season.

And they could be about to joined by another Polish goalkeeping talent.

Reports in the Polish press this week have confirmed that 20-year-old Arka Gydnia goalkeeper Michal Szromnik is to go on trial at Everton from December the 9th - in pursuit of a January move to Goodison Park.

The young goalkeeping talent made his debut for Arka as an 18-year-old in August 2011 - and has since gone on to establish himself as the undisputed number one stopper at the club.

This term he has played every single minute for the Polish second tier side as they chase promotion to the Estraklasa - Polish footballs top flight.

Reports suggest that the keeper has been at Everton on trial before about nine months ago but David Moyes decided not to sign him on.

Everton already have Tim Howard and Joel Robles as the number one and two stoppers at Goodison Park - but a talented goalkeeper of this age is always a welcome opportunity.

He would also not be alone in the Polish ranks. Fellow Pole and goalkeeper Mateusz Taudul is currently in the clubs academy - as is half Irish youngster Mateusz Hewelt.

Speaking to Polish paper Fakt he said:

“I'm going there with a year richer experience; with the hope of presenting myself better than before.”

It will be interesting to see how he gets on - and whether he can become the third choice keeper on Merseyside.

Would a young goalkeeper be a good signing for Everton?
