Everton demolish Stoke 4-0, and it was not just their on loan forwards who caught the eye.
Loanees Romelu Lukaku and Gerard Deulofeu combined to score two of Everton's four goals against a hapless Stoke, but another goalscorer provided greater long-term optimism.
While the loanees could not be at Goodison Park next season, Bryan Oviedo certainly will - and this was a perfect time for him to put in a storming performance.
Regular left-back Leighton Baines has been ruled out with injury for a month, and this is the Costa Rican's ideal chance to stake his claim.
Baines has frequently been linked with an exit to Manchester United, and Oviedo showed that if the club ever did cash in on the England international, replacing him may not be impossible, netting his first ever Premier League goal in the process.
Oviedo scored the third goal against Stoke, and provided an assist for Romelu Lukaku to score the game's fourth, after Deulofeu and Coleman had put the Toffees 2-0 up.
Oviedo's crossing was an asset, finding his man on four out of nine occasions, which compares favourably with Baines' performance against Tottenham a month ago, where the Englishman completed 2 of 11 crosses.
The Costa Rican created three goalscoring opportunities in total, the second highest in the Everton team, behind only Gareth Barry (4).
He completed 84 per cent of his passes, and had three shots on goal, scoring with his only effort on target. Defensively he completed two tackles and made one interception, which was enough to help keep a clean sheet against a blunt Stoke attack.
His display certainly got Everton supporters talking, here's a selection of what they had to say:
Everton are magic. Deulofeu and Oviedo stepped up today. Coleman and Lukaku top class as usual. Same again at Old Trafford would do. #EFC— Terry McAllister (@terrymcallister) November 30, 2013
Actually buzzing for Oviedo, finally got his chance! #EFC— Evertonian (@Sam_Clague) November 30, 2013
