Tottenham Chairman Daniel Levy - saint or sinner ?

Daniel Levy

Daniel Levy has been Chairman of Tottenham Hotspur since 2001, and there appears to be as many Spurs fans who think he is a saint as there are now those who think he's a sinner.

In the saint corner are those who point out:

The Tottenham Chairman managed to obtain a massive £167m for the combined sale of Dimitar Berbatov, Michael Carrick, Luka Modrić and Gareth Bale.

Levy has spent £110m to strengthen the Tottenham squad this season.

He appointed Martin Jol and Harry Redknapp as Tottenham managers. He also appointed the young and forward-thinking André Villas-Boas.

Thanks to Levy, Tottenham are on track to get a new stadium.

Levy has not been afraid to open the cheque book, spending hundreds of millions in transfer fees in a bid for glory.

Levy has helped Tottenham get back into Europe.

While in the sinners corner are those who say:

Levy has sold a host of the club's top talent - including Dimitar Berbatov, Michael Carrick, Luka Modrić and Gareth Bale.

He has allowed Tottenham to waste £110m on sub-par players this season.

Levy sacked the relatively successful Martin Jol and Harry Redknapp from their positions as Tottenham manager. He was also responsible for the appointments of Jacques Santini, Juande Ramos, and André Villas-Boas.

12 years after Levy's appointment, Tottenham have yet to get a new stadium.

Despite all the transfer activity, Tottenham have only a solitary League Cup win and 1 season in Champions League to show for it.

Thursday night football in the Europa League is a major and worthless distraction.

Which corner are you in ? Is Levy a saint, or a sinner ?
