Chelsea latest: Mou on key to pushing Arsenal, former AM drug appeal

All the latest news and views from Stamford Bridge.

The key to piling the pressure on pace-setting Premier League leaders Arsenal, for Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, is to ensure that the Blues away form emulates the Gunners home form.

While Arsenal entertained Hull City at their manor on Wednesday evening, slaying the Tigers by a 2-0 scoreline, Chelsea returned from Sunderland with a 4-3 away win in the bag. This weekend, Arsenal host Everton on Sunday, while Chelsea are again on the road, take on Stoke City on Saturday.

With victory, Mourinho can close the gap behind Arsenal to just a solitary point, making the Arsenal versus Chelsea match on December 23 that much more significant if Arsene Wenger's men drop points against The Toffees.

Mourinho told The Telegraph: 'We have two matches away from home consecutively while Arsenal have two matches at home consecutively, and that normally gives them more chance to win the six points. It was important for us to try not to let them open the gap. But this league is a league where in the top part and also in the low part of the table, any result can happen.'

Lampard, meanwhile, believes the keys to pushing Arsenal are 'attitude and focus' and informed London24: 'A lot of that, for me, is attitude and focus. We have got the squad, we have got the players, we have to get ourselves up for every game, we have to really, really focus because every game is difficult these days.'

Elsewhere, a two-time former Mourinho player at Porto and at Stamford Bridge, Deco has appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport over a drugs ban which lasts a year. The Portuguese had previously tested positive for furosemide, which can be a masking agent.

And finally, here is a wonderful clip some YouTube guru compiled of Eden Hazard laughing like a madman on loop… weird.
