Manchester United transfer news: 10 players could leave before next season

A select round-up of transfer news relating to Manchester United

Given Manchester United’s poor start to the season, much of the transfer talk has been about who David Moyes will bring in to the club.

But the Manchester Evening News has run a story suggesting that up to ten players could leave Old Trafford in the coming months, as Moyes seeks to create his own team and end the worrying lethargy that appears to have draped itself over a number of the current but less-than-convincing champions.

While the usual suspects are name-checked, there is also a suggestion that the likes of Javier Hernandez and Shinji Kagawa could make way, while Tom Cleverley and Danny Welbeck are also mentioned as men who have not upped their game and, worryingly for Moyes and the supporters alike, have gone backwards.

So while January will see fans and neutrals alike wondering who United will bring in, by next season the squad could look considerably different.

In other news, Everton and Liverpool have reportedly joined the race to sign Dundee United’s Ryan Gauld.

However, given that the 17-year-old has only just given an interview stating his desire to continue playing first-team football and that any future move would more likely be to Spain than England they, along with the likes of United and Arsenal, appear to be wasting their time.

Do you believe Manchester United are in need of a dramatic overhaul?
