All the news, views and transfer rumours from the Etihad this weekend…

Manchester City suggested their away day blues could be behind them as they defeated Fulham 4-2 at Craven Cottage on Saturday.

City took a 2-0 lead courtesy of Yaya Toure and Vincent Kompany, but saw themselves pegged back as Kieran Richardson levelled before the Belgian skipper put through his own net.

But two second-half substitutes came to City’s rescue, as goals from Jesus Navas and James Milner ensured the Blues took all three points.

Speaking after the match, Manuel Pellegrini praised returning goalkeeper Joe Hart.

In quotes published by the Mirror, the Chilean said, “I think he did well. It was not easy. The pitch was very quick and there was a lot of wind, but I think Joe had a very good game.”

Milner was also full of praise for his teammates, and hopes it is the start of a very good few weeks for the Blues.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the England midfielder said, “To come back again and show the character to kick on and get the two goals was pleasing.

It’s a good start to the festive period. A lot of games are coming up, but if we can keep that desire and that will to win up, that will get you most of the way.”

With the squad at Pellegrini’s disposal, and the new-found belief that they can score almost as many goals away as they do at home, few would bet against City having a very good Christmas indeed.

They could even break a record or two along with way, with the Mirror reporting that they are on course to break Chelsea’s record of goals scored in a single season. That is currently 103, but the Blues are on 51 with less than half the season played, and it appears they are beginning to warm up, with 30 in their last eight league matches.

Pellegrini and his players will simply be happy with a trophy or two, but records would be more than welcome additions.

Will Manchester City set a new goal-scoring record this season, and how do you see the festive period going for them?
