Arsenal transfer news: Gnabry loan, Cabaye and Portuguese starlet duo

Serge Gnabry Nextgen

All the latest transfer talk and more from The Emirates this morning...

Arsenal could be about to send Serge Gnabry out on loan for the rest of the season. The German youngster has made a mark on the first-team this season - but injury curtailed his progression. However the form which saw Germany coach Jogi Low admit he could be on his way to Brazil in 2014 has attracted the interest of new Wigan Athletic coach Uwe Rosler.

The fellow German is hoping to help his compatriot’s progression by bringing him into the club and help The Lactics in a late bid for a playoff place.

Arsenal are set for a transfer battle with Manchester United after two prized assets of Portuguese outfit SL Benfica.

The Gunners are believed to be in the running for teenage pair Goncalo Guedes and Joao Nunes - who would both cost around £350k in release fees.

Paris Saint-Germain and AS Monaco are also said to be keen.

Ahead of their meeting today, we thought we would stoke some flames, by bringing you the news on whether Arsene Wenger will be going back in for Yohan Cabaye this winter.

They tried in vain to snap him up in the summer - but to no avail.

And now Wenger has admitted he will not return to Cabaye:

“I am happy with the midfield I have. What is important is now to focus on my squad. I am happy with what I have.”

Bayern Munich full-back Rafinha has fired a warning at his team-mates ahead of the meeting between the two clubs in the Champions League. Bayern saw off Arsenal at the same stage of the competition last season - but the Brazilian utility player knows this is a different task:

"There will certainly be two tough games. We played them last year in the Champions League and we won one and lost the other. They are a better team now than last year.”
