Manchester United were without their star attacking pair for the 1-0 win over Norwich on Saturday, but the duo are on the mend.

David Moyes has given Manchester United fans some good news, with Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie well and truly on the recovery trail.

The pair both missed the Premier League champions’ 1-0 win over Norwich on Saturday, with the duo sidelined with groin injuries.

However, the prognosis is that it will not be long before the star pair are back leading the line for the Old Trafford outfit, with Rooney set to face Tottenham on Wednesday.

“I would expect Rooney to probably be back on Wednesday, but he’s got an adductor injury which kept him out of the Stoke game,” the Scottish manager told the club’s official website.

“Ideally, we’d like to have a bit longer than three or four days between each game, but we’re not getting much time at this time of the season.

“Robin has started some light training, and he might not be too far away either. We haven’t often had them as a strike partnership, so I look forward to getting them back together.”

United’s victory at Carrow Road was their fourth in a row in the Premier League, as they close the gap on the top four.
