Chelsea “open talks” with Arsenal and United linked wonderkid – report

Kurt Zouma

The British press are claiming that Jose Mourinho’s men have started negotiations with St Etienne over Kurt Zouma.

One player that looks ready for a move to the Premier League is Kurt Zouma, who has been attracting interest from some of Europe’s top sides.

The 19-year-old central defender has impressed for St Etienne in Ligue 1, while also excelling for French age-grade sides over recent years.

Arsenal and Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move for the athletic defender in the past, but it appears that Chelsea have taken the initiative to sign Zouma this January.

A report in Metro suggests that Blues boss Jose Mourinho has started negotiations with the French club over a potential switch to Stamford Bridge for the impressive centre-half.

The story suggests that Zouma would be allowed to spend the remainder of the season on loan at St Etienne if a move was completed, and that Mourinho is in the market for an additional centre-half ahead of next season.

Would Zouma be a good signing for the Blues?
