Three interesting stats ahead of Manchester United v Swansea

Old Trafford

Swansea travel to face Manchester United in an FA Cup contest, hoping to become the latest away side to rack up a win at Old Trafford.

The Welsh outfit go into the game in poor form as they have now gone winless in seven straight across all competitions – last tasting victory on December 4 against Newcastle.

Meanwhile David Moyes’ men had their fruitful holiday run halted by Tottenham Hotspur last time out, falling to a fourth home defeat in the current Premier League campaign.

United dealt the Swans a 4-1 thrashing on opening day in their first meeting this term, whilst they’ll clash for the second time in the league less than a month after Sunday’s cup encounter.

Following are three interesting stats ahead of the top flight clubs’ cup tie.

- Ten: Swansea have never before won at Old Trafford in 10 attempts, scoring just seven times at the Theatre of Dreams. Six of these games came before 1939 with both sides in the old Second Division.

- Zero: The two clubs have never met in the FA Cup before, with all 21 of their previous tussles having come on the league front. United are the competition’s most successful club with 11 titles, whilst Swansea’s best showings were a pair of semi-finals appearances in 1926 and 1964.

- One: For all of United’s struggles this term, they’ve lost back-to-back games just once under Moyes. The consecutive defeats came at the hands of Everton and Newcastle, both at home.
