Palace transfer news: Two strikers linked, 'Owner's holiday has no impact'

Tony Pulis has yet to bring in anyone to Crystal Palace to help their relegation battle

With January expected to be a busy month for Tony Pulis and Crystal Palace it is surprising to see that co-chairman Steve Parish has decided to go on holiday.

The chairman would be key to many transfer negotiations but Pulis is convinced it won't have any baring on the club's transfers. Pulis had this to say, as quoted by Sky Sports: "I speak to Steve twice a day and with modern machinery in place - as long as he is able to email or is near a fax - then there is absolutely no problem.

"We've got irons in the fire and know which targets we want. Putting deals together is difficult. People don't see it that way - you have got to get all parties in agreement."

Fans may be disappointed that there have been no arrivals yet, and are hoping that they don't end up with some panic buys towards the end of the window.

Palace have again been linked with making a move for former captain Mark Hudson, who is currently at Cardiff City. This rumour has been around for a while now, and it was thought initially that there would be no obstacles in the move. However now Cardiff City have a new manager in place, it is unsure on what his views are. Ole Gunnar Solskjær won't want to rush in to selling his players before he has had a good chance to see them.

A striker remains high on Pulis' list and Carlton Cole is one player linked with them with his future at West Ham United uncertain. Queens Park Rangers are also interested in his services, but at the moment West Ham can't afford to let him leave with goals hard to come by.

Luke Moore is available for free with his current side, Elagzispor of Turkey currently experiencing financial difficulties. The former Aston Villa, and Swansea City striker only joined the club last summer, but could be set for a swift return to England. There are a number of clubs monitoring the situation with Palace thought to be one. Not a hugely exciting prospect for The Eagles but a free transfer nonetheless so Pulis may want to take a gamble on him.

Are Palace any closer to their first January signing?
