The Chelsea boss has admitted that the Spain international forward is set to be on the sidelines for another three to four weeks
Chelsea host Stoke in the FA Cup fourth round this weekend with Jose Mourinho having the bulk of his players to pick from for the Stamford Bridge clash.
Ahead of the clash with Mark Hughes’ men, Mourinho has confirmed that the ex-Liverpool striker is set to be on the sidelines for the next three-to-four weeks, but does not require surgery.
“He [Torres] is the only one,” Mourinho said at his press conference. “One month, three weeks. Something like that.
“It’s not a surgery situation but it’s not a little strain. It’s a lateral ligament injury.”
Despite Samuel Eto’o’s hat-trick against United, there is every chance that Demba Ba may well be afforded a rare start for the side against Stoke, as Mourinho revealed recently that the Senegal international has been working well in training.
Will Ba or Eto'o start against Stoke? And is Torres' injury a blow?
