Inzaghi set for Sassuolo?

Former AC Milan striking star Pippo Inzaghi may be in line for the Sassuolo job, according to Italian media sources.

Pippo Inzaghi missed out on the AC Milan bench when Massimiliano Allegri was sacked but he may now get a chance with a smaller club.

Current Milan youth boss Inzaghi was hotly tipped to take over the senior side when Allegri was axed after a miserable start to the season.

But the Rossoneri instead went for Inzaghi's former teammate Clarence Seedorf, handing the Dutchman his first coaching role.

Minnows Sassuolo are fighting bravely to retain their unlikely Serie A status and have been boosted by the heroics of Juventus co-owned striker Domenico Berardi, who is winning admirers across Europe.

But a 3-1 loss to fellow strugglers Livorno has put a bleak complexion on things and the pressure is mounting on boss Eusebio Di Francesco.

The Emilia-Romagna outfit are already reported to be in talks with ex-Juventus man Ciro Ferarra, but there are suggestions in the Italian press that Inzaghi has entered the frame.

Sassuolo club president Giorgio Squinzi is said to be a big fan of Milan and it has been suggested that he may have made contact with Inzaghi as soon as he missed out on the Diavolo hot seat.

Di Francesco could be sacked before he gets another game but if he holds on long enough he must deliver victory at home to Hellas Verona this weekend, which will be a tough task.
