Tuttosport: Conte to become Juventus' Ferguson

Juventus 2

A Tuttosport exclusive claims that Antonio Conte will extend his contract at Juventus until 2018 and be given funds to imitate Sir Alex Ferguson.

Antonio Conte will be given the chance to create a winning dynasty at Juventus with a contract extension until 2018, according to Tuttosport.

Conte has been in negotiations over a contract renewal for months and there have been suggestions that he could go in search of a new challenge, possibly in England or Germany.

But with a third successive Scudetto looking likely, Tuttosport reports that Juventus have moved to lock Conte up and want him to build a dominant club like Sir Alex Ferguson's Manchester United.

President Andrea Agnelli has apparently agreed a deal with Conte that will keep him in Turin until 2018 and reward him with £3.3m on signature.

Paolo Bargiggia of Tuttosport then insists that from 2015 to 2018, Conte will be paid between £2.5m and £3.4m per season, bringing him in line with the bigger clubs in Europe and making him far and away the best paid coach in Serie A.

Conte has always been inspired by Ferguson and he would be trusted to play a greater role in signings and decision-making for the future direction of the club.

His goal would be to add Champions League glory to the Scudetti which he has already delivered.

A show of faith like this from Juventus would be rare in the cutthroat world of Serie A where the average shelf life of a coach is very short.

Can Antonio Conte be Juventus' Sir Alex Ferguson?
