Valencia left-back Juan Bernat Velsaco is interesting fellow La Liga side Real Madrid.

The 20-year-old left-back often dubbed ‘the next Jordi Alba’ is receiving rave reviews after firmly nailing down that left-back spot this season.

The Valencia youth product joined Los Che originally as a left-winger but has since converted into an attacking left-back.

Making his senior debut at 17 years of age, Bernat went on to represent the Valencia B team throughout 2012 before breaking into the first-team following Jordi Alba’s departure to FC Barcelona.

Bernat has started 10 La Liga games so far this campaign, scoring one goal and assisting a further two as Valencia currently sit in midtable. The youngster has also shown he is comfortable in possession – with a pass success rate of over 88%.

The Spanish U21 international has caught the attentions of various clubs around Europe – with Rafa Benitez said to be keen on adding the youngster to his Spanish revolution in Naples.

According to Spanish source Super Deporte it is Real Madrid who wish to buy the player for next season – citing probable departures of either Fabio Coentrao or Marcelo as the principal reason.

Manchester United have been linked with Portuguese left-back Fabio Coentrao for some time – with the player said to be keen on a move to Old Trafford.

As for Marcelo, the situation runs deeper. The defender has suddenly fallen out of favour at the Bernabeu – with rumours suggesting that the coaching staff are bothered over the defender’s weight issues.

During Real Madrid’s Copa Del Rey victory over Espanyol, Fabio Coentrao picked up a niggling injury and had to leave the field. Curiously, Marcelo was the natural replacement, yet Ancelotti instead shuffled the pack and put Pepe at left-back – signalling his apparent disapproval of the Brazilian left-back.

According to the Spanish rumour mill Fichajes Manchester City were willing to offer Marcelo a way out – with Pellegrini well aware of the Brazilian international’s capabilities during their time together at Real Madrid.

Any deal involving the trio over the next two days is extremely unlikely – however with Ancelotti already looking at new faces for next season – it will give Manchester United and Manchester City a clear path to bring in their reported targets after the World Cup in Brazil.
