Tottenham latest: Boss may listen to Ginola, Lamela injury update

David Ginola

Some of the latest stories involving Tottenham Hotspur this Friday evening.

Spurs boss Tim Sherwood has said he is willing to listen to David Ginola’s offer to link up with the coaching staff at White Hart Lane, after he specifically offered to help get the best out of winger Andros Townsend.

Sherwood told his press conference ahead of the weekend’s clash with Everton: ‘David is a good lad but at the moment I am concentrating on doing my job. I am not the one who hires and fires – I just make suggestions.

‘Andros has got a bit to learn but he is not doing so badly on his own. Maybe I will have a chat with David and find out what he would suggest!’

The Spurs boss has also said he has no idea when record signing Erik Lamela will be available for selection again after struggling with thigh and back injuries.

‘They [medical staff] keep monitoring the situation and I keep asking for an update, and they keep telling me that we’ll just have to investigate further. Hopefully we’re making progress, I couldn’t put a time on it.’

Mousa Dembele has been speaking to the Tottenham website about the magnitude of Sunday’s game with Everton with both sides battling it out for that fourth and final Champions League place this season.

The midfielder said: ‘It’s a big match against a team that is playing well this season. They have new players, like Barry, McCarthy and Lukaku, who I know well. They are all doing well.

‘Everton are a good team and we have a lot of respect for them, but we should also recognise that we have quality as well. I’m sure they believe they can do something against us, but we believe as well.’

Could Spurs do with Ginola's help?
