The latest star from the Vicente Calderon outfit to be perceived as a player that the Premier League champions are keeping an eye on is Joao Miranda.
The Brazil international has been in the Spanish capital since 2011, and has formed a formidable central defensive pairing with Diego Godin this term.
The Daily Star have today claimed that United have been on Miranda’s trail for some time, and have sent scouts to watch the 29-year-old on five occasions.
The report states that United made an approach for the defender in January, and will return with an offer in the £13 million range at the end of the season.
United are in a transitional phase, and with Nemanja Vidic announcing his intention to leave the club in the summer, a new central defender acquisition is needed.
Would Miranda be a good signing for United?
