The defender that Mourinho wants to partner Zouma at Chelsea – report

Varane Madrid

Portuguese daily newspaper Record have stated that the Stamford Bridge boss will move for Raphael Varane this summer.

Chelsea have already lined up Kurt Zouma as a long-term replacement for John Terry, and if reports in the European press are to be believed, Jose Mourinho will not stop there in terms of defensive reinforcements.

Portuguese newspaper Record have stated that the ex-Real Madrid boss will raid his former club this summer to bolster his squad.

The Blues boss gave Raphael Varane his big breakthrough at the Santiago Bernabeu, and is believed to want to bring the France international to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.

The former Lens defender was a mainstay under Mourinho in the Spanish capital, but has not played as much of a role this season, starting only five La Liga games under Carlo Ancelotti.

As such Chelsea are rumoured to be ready to launch a considerable bid for the star, with a future partnership with countryman Zouma in the offing.

Would Varane and Zouma be the ideal partnership?
