Arsenal: Koscielny tweaks hamstring with France - Will he make Everton game?

Laurent Koscielny

Laurent Koscielny of Arsenal is a doubt to face Everton report L'Equipe.

Arsenal's usual international injury curse has struck again, and not for the first time it is Laurent Koscielny returning with question marks over his fitness.

French newspaper L'Equipe report the defender picked up a hamstring injury, missing the encounter with Holland altogether.

They report: "The Arsenal defender felt pain  in hamstring Tuesday night at the final session of Les Blues. He has since passed examinations, and radios did not reveal anything special. The player who does not want to take any chances, but is doubtful for quarter-final Cup Saturday between Arsenal and Everton."

The use of the word doubtful is the worry - but the signs are positive for Arsenal.

As the report states, had he been needed, and due to the fact the clash with Holland was a friendly meant he wasn't, it wasn't impossible that he could have made the match.

French journalist Julien Laurens also backed up the report that the Gunners should not be overly concerned.

Arsenal have a crucial FA Cup clash with Everton at the weekend and Koscielny will be assessed upon return to London.

The good news is Thomas Vermaelen, the player who would potentially replace him, came through the match for Belgium which he started against the Ivory Coast.

If we were making a prediction, it's that Koscielny will start against Everton at the weekend, but to say it is 100 per cent, would be jumping the gun.
